Constructed over the course of two years, Hyperdreamstate is a continuous, mixed album that journeys through a wide range of electronic styles. Each track uses a different palette of sounds, with varying mixtures of vintage synthesizers, rich chords, energetic melodies, playful progressions, busy breakbeats, and insane vocal harmonies, just to name a few!
Brief ambient interludes join this diverse array of tracks together, creating a shared sense of space among its individual compositions through the different auditory spaces that link up each of its worlds.

This album is the culmination of the collaborative work that midkay and I performed leading up to its release. It's an experience composed of the fruits of our labor that we were proud to share with the world – and hopefully, the start of more, even cooler things! Some of the tracks were previously released as singles, most of which were lightly touched up for this album. midkay writes:
Once XT3RM1N8R and I started collaborating, we suddenly had a bunch of neat demos that all seemed like they had potential. I had a sense that they would all fit nicely together, and we set out to finish and structure them into an album. It took a full couple years to get all the pieces in place, but it was a great journey, and full of learning. From collaborating with visual FX animator @Terzalo for the album release trailers and promo visuals, to crafting the artwork, sequencing the tracks and building all the seamless transitions between each, it was a huge undertaking and I think we both learned so much that we’re excited to carry into our future efforts.

I had just gotten a new plugin and made something out of a vintage synth test; this track came out of that and the synths were so much fun. The name means what you want it to mean. midkay writes:
One of my favorite tracks on this album. I think the combination of gauzy, woozy synths and almost bombastic percussion delivers something really powerful and energizing. This was a very late addition to the album, and quickly grew from a small demo into this epic track. I'm glad we went for it.

This track is absolutely bonkers and it was a lot of fun to make. I was often worried that it would be a little "out there" for listeners but I think it does this in a good way. midkay writes:
This track was a beast to get finished, but came out really good, I think. I love the middle section around 1:40 – huge Katamari Damacy vibes with the vocal harmonies. The final 2 minutes were the hardest to get right, but I love where it ended up.

While not as cracked out as Superdegeneration, this track is also silly and has a similar kind of energy to me. midkay writes:
This track underwent a couple different reinventions before feeling complete. I think it just brings a good, fun, summery vibe.

I think this one is really funny because it started while I was jamming around waiting for one of midkay's edits to another track. I think it does a good job of exhibiting a mood of patience. It kind of gives me goosebumps, midkay really knew how to bring out the ethereal vibes of it and the ambiance really helps transport the listener to another world. midkay writes:
This was a late addition to the album and the finished edit came together relatively easily. We felt it served as a nice little breather and balanced out well with a lot of the more energetic songs.

This track was the most heavily edited of the singles re-released in this album. It takes the qualities of the original and plays on it even more in a bite-sized way as opposed to the original 10-minute behemoth, hahaha. midkay writes:
While the original single edit of this track was far too epic in scope to fit well on the album, I felt there was a lot of potential in the individual elements to be reworked into a different style for the album release. Starting over with a simpler structure and incorporating E-Bow guitar elements led to this lighter, airier rendition of the track.

The energy of this track does not stop for anyone and it reminds me of some choice works I've appreciated earlier in life. I recall that it was one of the first tracks that we finished on the album and was really engaging to put together. midkay writes:
I believe this one changed the least from its demo form. Despite being the shortest track, it's packed with energy, full of twists and turns, and already felt complete from its early stages, like it didn't need anything more.
